Pharmacy
This course provides an introduction to the principles and applications of pharmacy, with a focus on the study of drugs and their interactions with the human body. Students will learn about the mechanisms of drug action, the principles of drug discovery and development, and the role of pharmacists in promoting safe and effective use of medications. Throughout the course, students will gain hands-on experience with various pharmacy techniques and tools, such as drug formulation and compounding, medication administration, and drug information resources. Students will also participate in group discussions and presentations to gain a deeper understanding of the practical applications of pharmacy principles.
Course OVERVIEW
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Gain the skills needed to successfully join the health workforce
- Understand the fundamental principles of pharmacy
- Design and implement drug therapy regimens and drug utilization reviews
- Understand the principles of pharmacy techniques and their applications
- Apply pharmacy principles to the practice of pharmaceutical care
